Resum Monastery, also called Gurung Monastery, sits on a ridge above Rinchenpong and dates back to the 18th century. The short hike up is part of the charm, and the view from the top is one of the best in West Sikkim, with snow peaks spread all around you.
The walk up
The trail climbs through forest and passes Rabindra Smriti Van, so you can see both in one outing. Take it slowly and give yourself time at the top to enjoy the panorama.
