Bikh Pokhari, better known as Poison Lake, is a small, moss-covered lake near Rinchenpong with a story to match its name. Local history says that in 1860 the Lepchas poisoned this water source to force invading British troops to retreat.

Today it is a calm, shaded spot and an easy stop on a walk around Rinchenpong. The old British heritage bungalow is close by, so you can see both together.
