Ahaldhara is a hilltop viewpoint near Sittong and Latpanchar, and it is worth every step of the climb. From the top you look out over forested hills and the curve of the Teesta valley, with the Kanchenjunga range on the horizon on a clear day.
When to go
Sunrise and sunset are the magic hours here, when the light changes the colours of the peaks and the valley. Clear skies are most likely from October to April.
